Moving or downsizing and have items you no longer need? Planning a home renovation or is it just time to de-clutter and renew your space? Instead of tossing out your unwanted household items, donate them to Habitat for Humanity ReStore Aurora and do something good for your community and the environment!

When you donate items to ReStore Aurora, you are helping Fox Valley Habitat achieve its mission to build safe, decent homes for working, lower-income families through our unique, affordable homeownership program. You’re also helping the environment by enabling ReStore Aurora to recycle perfectly reusable household items and provide them with a second home, eliminating landfill dumping to preserve the planet. These items are then sold to the public at affordable prices. We offer 2 options for scheduling a donation pickup or you may drop them off at our ReStore.  

Drop Off Donations - Please check list below for items we are currently accepting:

For your convenience, you may drop off any donations that we are currently accepting at the 2 drop off areas located behind our ReStore building at 2302 W. Indian Trail, Aurora 60506 from 9am-4pm Tues-Sat. Donations are not accepted after 4pm. If you have bigger sized items (furniture, cabinets, appliances etc.), or a larger amount of items to donate, please email pictures to before dropping the items off and we will contact you after reviewing them.

Scheduling a Donation Pickup:


Pickup Through our ReStore: (use green button below to schedule)

  • $50 flat fee (must be paid at time of scheduling). Why do we charge a fee? As so many of us have experienced cost increases, we have unfortunately also been affected by these increases that include the payments, gas and maintenance of our truck, as well as wages for the driver & driver helper.                                  HOLIDAY SPECIAL! NO PICKUP FEE THROUGH 12/22/22 (applies to ReStore pickup only). Limited availability. No extra dates will be added once time slots are filled. $50 fee will apply after 12/22/22.
  • We have limited, set days for pickups- wait time will vary
  • All donation item requests must be approved through our donation department before a pickup can be scheduled  
  • We can only pick up items that are on our list of acceptable items (list below)
  • We are NOT able to come inside your home or disassemble items 
  • All items must be in garage, on porch, or outside
  • We schedule pickups in the following towns ONLY: Aurora, North Aurora, Batavia, Geneva, Montgomery, Oswego, Yorkville, Plano, Sandwich, Bristol, Sugar Grove, Elburn, Maple Park, Big Rock, and Kaneville. We service the Southern Kane County area. If you are outside of this area, please contact the ReStore closest to you.

    Pickup Through ReSupply: (use blue button to schedule)

  • Please use this option if you are in need of having items removed from the inside of your home- a large amount of items, or if you are in need of having items removed quickly- they are able to pickup within 48 hours.
  • ReSupply works with local movers to help pick-up ALL of your donation items at a low cost to you. 
  • ALL items will be accepted and ReSupply will bring us the items we do accept and they will donate the items we do not take to another local charity organization.

  • Gently Used Furniture
    • No items with tears, deep scratches, marks, chips, cracks, strong odors, pet hair or stains
    • All items must in working order & have all pieces & hardware
    • Sectional couches must have all pieces.
    • Bed frames & bunk beds must have all hardware & a picture of bed fully assembled
    • Bar carts, free standing bars, bar stools
  • Home Décor Items
    • Decorations, floral, vases, centerpieces, candles, throw pillows, holiday decorations, etc.
  • Framed Art, Picture Frames, Framed Mirrors (no unframed mirrors)
  • Lamps- Table, floor, desk
  • Dinnerware, Chinaware, Glassware (Including Barware Items)
  • Collectible Toys (model trains/planes/cars & antique toys)
  • Books (hard bound only)
    • Hard bound books, coffee table books
  • Albums, CD’s, Musical Instruments (Sleeved albums, cased CD’s)
  • Stereo Equipment & Electronics
    • Must be in working order & have all wires/cables
    • Under 10 years old only (unless vintage or working, high-quality electronics)
  • TV’s- Must be flat screen over 40” & under 10 years old
  • Tools & Hardware
    • Power tools with batteries & chargers (if cordless)
    • All gas or oil powered tools must be emptied
  • Building Materials
    • Reusable or new wood pieces, PVC, new or unused trim, etc.
  • Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Roofing
  • Paint- No paint cans (new or used). Corporate/Commercial donations only
  • New spray paint cans only
  • Flooring
    • All flooring (tile, hardwood, laminate) must be full boxes & in original or unmarked box
  • Appliances- Refrigerator, Dishwasher, Oven/Stove, Microwaves, Washer, Dryer
    • Under 10 years old only
  • Electric Space Heaters, Air Conditioners, Fans, Etc.
  • Area Rugs
    • Must have no visible or large stains, tears, rips, animal stains & hair
  • Kitchen Cabinets, Bathroom Cabinets & Vanities
    • Bathroom vanities must have sink/counter tops
  • Kitchen Sinks & Faucets
  • Interior Doors, Bi-fold Doors, Screen Doors, Exterior Doors
    • Doors must be solid wood or metal doors
    • No pressboard or hollow (excluding white doors)
  • Windows & Screens
    • Only new windows that have not been installed will be accepted
    • Screens must have no tears or frame damage
  • Sporting Equipment
    • Golf, baseball, football, basketball, soccer, etc.
  • New or gently used pet supplies- No food or treats. New packaged/tagged toys only.
  • Outdoor Furniture
  • Lawn & Garden Items
