Fox Valley Habitat Women Build
Habitat's Women Build volunteers come together from all walks of life to build stronger and safer communities. Women and children make up the majority of people populating Habitat neighborhoods, as they are the most likely to be affected by poor living conditions. Women Build events provide the opportunity for women to take a proactive step in serving their communities.
What is the Women Build program?
Women Build is a Habitat for Humanity International program that encourages women to make a difference by building homes and communities. The program seeks to encourage women volunteers to further the home-building mission of Habitat for Humanity. Any woman (over 18) who wants to learn how to build a home is invited to join us; no experience is necessary. Volunteers work under the guidance of construction professionals and alongside other volunteers and future Habitat homeowners.
How can I get involved with the Women Build Program?
Fox Valley Habitat Women Build Program works as a fundraiser that benefits the building of a home for one of our Habitat Families.
All Women Build volunteers are asked to raise $200 per person to cover the cost of the materials that are used for each build day. The funding can also be coporate/company sponsored.
Each Women Build participant will be eligible for fundraising incentive prizes!
Our fundraising program, TeamRaiser, helps you connect with everyone on your list of family and friends to help you achieve your goal easily. There's also an option to set up your fundraiser on Facebook. Women Build particpants have had wonderful results with this!
Whether you are learning new skills or simply adding a few to your tool belt, this is a rewarding experience for all involved and one that improves the community you share.
