ReStores accept donations of new and used items from individuals, retailers and contractors, then resell them to the community at affordable prices. All proceeds help fund the affiliate’s work in McHenry County.
At Habitat for Humanity of McHenry County, we know the power of community firsthand. Without the help of our donors and volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to help families in McHenry County become homeowners or attain vital repairs to their homes. Our ReStores are one way we’re able to give back and say thank you to our friends and neighbors in the community, while also helping more people move into safe, affordable housing. And, not to mention, our ReStores help our community to be more environmentally friendly by keeping thousands of tons of waste out of landfills each year.
Donated items can either be brought to our ReStores or picked up by our donation truck. Items can be dropped off Tuesday through Saturday from 9 am-5 pm.

ReStores are open to the public for shopping from Wednesday through Saturday, 9 am-5 pm. You can purchase a variety of quality new and reclaimed building materials, pre-owned appliances and furniture, and more – all at a fraction of retail prices.
Both our McHenry and Woodstock ReStores are staffed almost entirely by volunteers. Without the help of our awesome volunteers, we would not be able to do what we do! In the ReStores, our volunteers help with duties such as running the cash registers, sorting stock, assisting customers, tidying up the store, unloading the donation truck, and educating the community about Habitat McHenry’s mission.
