Team Building Work Days. As a DuPage Habitat leadership giving sponsor, we welcome you out to our build sites for a structured, rewarding, team-building experience. Through your donation, we purchase and provide tools and materials for your build dates. Our experienced house and crew leaders will provide guidance to unskilled volunteer teams of 10-12 persons. We ask our volunteer teams for feedback and use it to ensure a successful volunteer experience.
Public Relations and Media Exposure. Habitat for Humanity International is a known, trusted and loved brand, valued at $3.4 billion. We leverage our brand to ensure our partner sponsors are recognized for their wonderful community investment through press releases, web recognition and invitations to special events.
Tax Deductions. DuPage Habitat is a registered, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. All donations are used in support of our mission and tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
Tax Credits. The Illinois Affordable Housing Tax Credit (IAHTC) encourages private investment in affordable housing by providing donors of qualified donations with a one-time tax credit on their Illinois state income tax equal to 50 percent of the value of the donation. The donor can choose to transfer the credits to the project, which creates additional project financing through syndication of the credits.
Eligible donations include money, securities, real estate or personal property. Donations must be provided, without consideration, to a qualified non-profit affordable housing sponsor for an affordable housing project. The donations may be aggregated if more than one donation is received for a development, but the total donation must exceed $10,000. All donors must submit a donor affidavit stating that they understand the donation is eligible for the IAHTC program and whether they will retain or transfer the tax credit certificate. The donation must occur within 12 months of the receipt of an IAHTC reservation.
