Partnering with DuPage Habitat:

We are extremely grateful for our volunteers who donate their time. However, we also need to raise funds in order to cover the cost of land acquisition, building materials and site supervision. DuPage Habitat depends on the financial support of volunteer groups to help defray the rising cost of construction. A donation corresponding to your level of participation is vital to Habitat’s mission of making decent, affordable shelter for all people a reality.

A Brush With Kindness

A Brush With Kindness is a home restoration program that helps keep families in homes when they are having a difficult time keeping up with required maintenance. Homeowners served by A Brush With Kindness are often elderly or disabled, and on a fixed income. Working with neighborhood organizations, we help identify properties that qualify for the program. The family applies and once accepted, works alongside the volunteers on the project.

Benefits of A Brush With Kindness:

Activities and Time Commitment:
Projects include repair, painting and some minor landscaping and can be completed in 2 to 5 days. Depending on the size of the project, up to 10 volunteers per day may participate. A Brush with Kindness projects are scheduled as needed to respond to a family’s specific request for help.

Sponsorship:
We are extremely grateful for our volunteers who donate their time. However, we also need to raise funds in order to cover the cost of materials and site supervision. DuPage Habitat depends on the financial support of volunteer groups to help defray the rising cost of restoration. Therefore, volunteer groups participating in A Brush With Kindness are asked to donate $3,000 per home.

To get started: If your organization is interested in partnering with DuPage Habitat on a home restoration opportunity, please contact our Special Events and Marketing Manager, Lauren Andres.
