2019 National Volunteer Week at DuPage Habitat for Humanity
Volunteers for DuPage Habitat were celebrated from April 7-13 during National Volunteer Week.
Volunteers keep our work sites, ReStores and offices running. Without the support and dedication of our incredible volunteers, our organization would not be able to provide the strength, stability, and self-reliance that our future and current homeowners deserve. During this year's National Volunteer Week, we thank the individuals and corporate partners who have supported our mission.
“Our physicians and employees are passionate about extending their caring mission beyond the walls of our clinics and are eager to give back to the community both financially and through volunteer service.” — Diane Lillwitz, DMG Charitable Fund Manager
"My favorite part about volunteering with DuPage Habitat is the fact that it has become a second family to me. Everyone that I meet (volunteer or staff) are all 100% dedicated to the mission of providing affordable housing to local families right here in our community." — April Kalinski, Special Events and Fundraising Committee Chair
“My favorite part of the ReStore is the staff. I repurpose old, unwanted furniture and many times I need carpentry and help. No matter what I need to get it done, they pitch in. You can't put a price on hard working, loyal, kind, friendly staff! I am very committed to the Habitat mission and the staff at the ReStore make my time here so much more rewarding.” — Ellen DelGaudio, Aurora ReStore Volunteer
"One of the first things I did as a volunteer was a Neighborhood Revitalization Project at a Hanover Park Elementary School. Having the opportunity to work alongside the students, parents and teachers was awesome. I also found out about the ReStore and I was able to participate in Women Build Week." — Robin Kersey-Dickerson, Community Engagement Volunteer
National Volunteer Week is almost over, but our volunteers continue to give their time all year. To join our network of mission-minded, dedicated volunteers, attend a volunteer orientation or search for a volunteer opportunity. There is also still time to register and fundraise for Women Build Week, May 4-11!
