DuPage Habitat held their Kick-Off for Women Build Week, May 4-11, at the Aurora ReStore on the eve of International Women's Day.

Women Build Kick-Off attendees heard first-hand from a Habitat homeowner, who has been impacted by our mission, and learned more about how they can partner with each other to help someone just like them achieve something that we all deserve: a safe and stable home for their children, a place where they'll always be able to return. Your support and dedication enables DuPage Habitat to deliver our mission of bringing people together to build homes, community and hope.

At the Kick-Off, Michelle shared the story of her family and the impact their Habitat home has had. DuPage Habitat continue their work because of families in need and because the Habitat vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Watch what a new Habitat home means to homeowners and know that you have the ability to help make this happen.

The challenge before us is to continue to raise the resources necessary to serve more families in need. This is possible through a generous commitment from individuals to raise a minimum of $250 towards our $100,000 fundraising goal for Women Build, DuPage Habitat's signature fundraising event. There are many ways in which you can get involved with our Women Build efforts:

Register your team for your preferred build day between May 4-11. Be sure to register ASAP, spots are limited (May 10 has reach MAX. capacity)!

Once you've registered and chosen your day be sure to take the time to personalize your team page and/or your participant page. This will allow you to show others why you are passionate about the Habitat mission. And it's what people will see when you start sharing your fundraising page.

Team recruitment is easy if you think about your network of friends, family, co-workers, etc. Invite everyone you know to join the team. Use the resources you have! Personal asks, social media recruitment, targeted email outreach, etc. Make sure your teammates are ready to fundraise!

Help us reach our goal of fundraising $100,000 to help families in need of a decent place to build long-term financial security. By linking your personal fundraising page to your Facebook account you'll find it easier than ever to fundraise your minimum of $250. Check out these helpful fundraising tips and this list of creative fundraising ideas to get you started. Before you know it, you'll be on your way to earning some prizes for your hard work!

No experience is necessary to join our friendly and collaborative build site! You'll be working under the supervision and direction of construction professionals and alongside volunteer leaders and future Habitat homeowners.

We look forward to seeing you on our build site this May for Women Build!
