DuPage Habitat for Humanity welcomes George Mulligan as new Board President
DuPage Habitat for Humanity is pleased to announce the election of George Mulligan as the new President of their Board of Directors. George will support the board’s efforts in raising awareness for DuPage Habitat’s programs, events, and fundraising efforts.
“I’m very excited because I think that DuPage Habitat is so well positioned to contribute to the affordable housing movement in the area,” said George Mulligan. “There’s so much misunderstanding about the organization and I like the opportunity to go… and talk to the public about what we do and invite them to organiz group activities.”
George’s experience with Habitat for Humanity extends to his years in the Phillipines, working for Emerson. He recently retired after a 40 year career in general management for Fortune 500 companies in the US and overseas. For most of his career, George worked for Emerson, a multinational firm based in St. Louis. Most recently, George served as Vice President/General Manager for Emerson businesses in Chicago, Manila, and Houston.
George has a B.A. from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He has both an M.A. and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. George married his childhood sweetheart 45 years ago this summer. He and his wife have two daughters and five grandchildren who make the world go 'round for them.
