On August 24, business executives and CEOs from around the Chicagoland Area and beyond stepped away from their offices for a morning of volunteering with DuPage Habitat for Humanity. Despite the inclement weather that Friday, these executives still came out and powered through rain and wind during the build.

This annual building project brings together business leaders from across the community to work alongside DuPage Habitat’s Construction Crew and Executive Director, Dave Neary, on the site of a new home. Tim Jahnke, President and CEO of Elkay Manufacturing, served as this year’s Event Chair. Attending executives included Rick Lochner, President and CEO of RPC Leadership Associates; Phil Hollyer, Founder and CEO of HS2 Solutions; Jeff Wink, CFO of HS2 Solutions; and several others. While volunteering, they learned more about opportunities for corporate partnership. They also had the chance to hear directly from a Habitat Partner Family about how the program will impact their family.

This build day helped to provide a qualified local family the opportunity to purchase a home of their own with a zero equivalent mortgage. In the coming months, dedicated volunteers will work alongside Partner Families to continue the momentum generated by the Executive Build on this house to create a safe, decent, and affordable home.
