DuPage Habitat for Humanity Kicks-off "Women Build Week"

DuPage Women Come Together to Raise $65,000 for a New Home Construction

DuPage Habitat for Humanity will be celebrating their bi-annual Women Build Week during the week of September 22-29, 2018, alongside nearly 150 local DuPage County women. The opening ceremony to kick-off the event took place Living Christ Lutheran Church and had over 35 people in attendance, including DuPage County Commissioner Janice Anderson and Village Clerk Eira Corral-Sepulveda, Hanover Park.

“Women Build is a great opportunity for women to come together to empower one another to provide for their families,” shared Corral-Sepulveda.

Volunteers will be building one of 27 homes as part of the Neighborhood Revitalization of the Greenbrook Tanglewood Community in Hanover Park. Greenbrook Court, commonly known as Court J, will house the new development, providing the opportunity for affordable homeownership for families across the county.

“Improved affordability for households struggling with housing costs can benefit all residents, by improving health outcomes, child educational outcomes, and quality of life for the elderly,” stated Anderson.

Sponsors for this year’s event include DuPage Medical Group, EcoLab and Thrivent Financial.
