DuPage Habitat for Humanity, Thrivent Financial kick-off double groundbreaking
Congressman Roskam and community leaders attend affordable housing double groundbreaking
On March 9th, DuPage Habitat for Humanity and Thrivent Financial™ joined forces to help build new hope in partnership with low to moderate-income families seeking affordable housing. This ceremony marked the kick-off of the construction of two homes through the DuPage Habitat and Thrivent Financial™ partnership.
Surrounded by Congressman Roskam, (R-IL), representatives of Thrivent Financial™, volunteers, staff, future homeowners and friends DuPage Habitat Executive Director Dave Neary thanked Thrivent Financial™ for their continued partnership and dedication that they, along with their members, contribute to the construction of new homes. He also welcomed the inauguration of the Faith Build, which brings together members of the faith community to fund and build a home for a family in need.
“We’re really excited to begin our 12th project with Thrivent here at DuPage Habitat. It’s a partnership that’s gone back over a decade with fantastic results and life changing experiences for so many families,” shared Neary.
Congressman Peter Roskam, (R-IL) shared how an act of kindness can change a person’s life. “Think about the family that’s going to move into this house and think about the ripple effect of that household on one generation after another generation after another generation.”
These homes are made possible through the significant contributions of Thrivent Financial™ and the support of DuPage Habitat donors and volunteers. Thrivent and its members have contributed more than $226 million to Habitat for Humanity International since the Thrivent Builds partnership began in 2005. Over 727,000 Thrivent members and volunteers have donated 5.2 million volunteer hours to help hardworking families in need.
