Interns For Spring 2021

Mateo.png

My name is Mateo, and I am a senior at Aurora University. I will be a marketing intern for Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity for the spring 2021 semester. I am pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and I plan to graduate by December 2021. In my free time, I enjoy photography, playing saxophone, and exploring interesting places. After I begin my marketing career and the pandemic ends, I hope to be able to travel to places I have never been to. Before working at Habitat for Humanity I spent a little time working for Boys & Girls club and I loved the opportunity to connect with and guide the younger kids I met while I was there. This opportunity was a major factor in my decision to become an intern for Habitat for Humanity because I wanted to be able to help and connect with other people and this organization can help me do that. I am eagerly looking forward to help this organization in any way I can!

I'm Oscar and I'm currently pursuing my bachelor's degree in marketing at Aurora University. I'm originally from Chicago, IL, however, I grew up in Querétaro, a small city in central Mexico. In my free time I like to cook, read, travel, and spend time with my family. I also love meeting people from different cultures.

I chose Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity for my internship because I like to help people. I would like to help build homes for families and make their dreams come true. I'm looking forward to being a part of this team.

Hello, my name is Jared and I am a senior at Aurora University. I will graduate May, 2021, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and I desire to work in Public Relations. I have thoroughly loved my time at Aurora University, having been a part of the executive boards of several student organizations; including Activities Programing Board, AU Against Human Trafficking, AU History Club, My Brother’s Keeper, and the AU Veterans Association. I have been doing freelance public relations and social media work since Junior High and have been cited in The Hollywood Reporter, PopCulture.com, and Sofa King Cool.

I am an active part of Temple B’nai Israel Synagogue in Aurora, IL and also my family’s synagogue in Skokie where I have taught Hebrew School throughout college. I was born in the Chicago area and presently live in Skokie, IL with my parents and older brother since 2001. In fact, we moved to Skokie a few days before 9/11 and some of my earliest memories are of that fateful day. I went to school in Skokie for my entire K-12 education, graduating from Niles North High School in 2017. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends from Aurora University, working out, watching classic TV, studying Torah, and listening to classic rock. My interests include sports, music, television, film, cartoon history, and politics.

I am Eden Braun, marketing intern for the Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity during the summer of 2020. While working with the faculty, meeting the Habitat families, and gaining more experience within the field of marketing. I have gotten to know so many wonderful people and accomplish what I love to do. As a Marketing and Management major at Elmhurst University, I love connecting people of the community and businesses together. Creating trust between the people of Fox Valley and the Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity by staying true to the vision of "A world where everyone has a decent place to live," doing what they can to continue to provide affordable housing for the community. Even during a pandemic, they are safely working at the builds and preparing the Aurora Restore. After this summer, I have one year left of schooling before really beginning the journey of my career.
